We have an exciting new opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join University Hospitals Dorset as part of our Women and Children’s (W&C) clinical pharmacy team. You will be an important member of the W&C pharmacy team with a focus on not only developing your own career, but also the professional journey of our junior workforce. The pharmacy department is highly regarded within the trust, and we are looking for an experienced pharmacist to join us in representing the pharmacy service and trust values. This role will require one late finish per week, weekend shifts 1 in 5 (either Saturday or Sunday) and approximately one Bank Holiday shift per year. Patient-Centred Care: Provide a patient-focused and clinically competent pharmacy service to inpatient paediatric, maternity and neonatal wards. This involves working directly with patients (and their parents/carers) and contributing to their care. Team Development: Work with and develop rotational pharmacists, technicians, and trainees within the directorate, including supporting their professional and clinical skills. Clinical Guidance and Practice: Contribute to the development of clinical guidance and ensure that pharmacy practices align with national guidelines. Implement cost-saving measures, develop and review patient group directions (PGDs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) where necessary. Integration and Collaboration: Integrate secondary care services within the broader NHS Dorset Healthcare system. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and contribute to the overall patient care strategy. Service Development: Play a role in the on-going development of pharmacy services within the directorate. Suggest improvements, streamline processes, and stay updated with best practices. Leadership and Mentorship: Act as a role model and pharmacy ambassador, and demonstrate leadership qualities. Mentor and line manage rotational pharmacists, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge. Qualifications

Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or evidence of equivalent experience Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or prepared to train for this Pharmacist registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent Experience

2 years NHS hospital experience Clinical audit / Drug Use Review projects Mentoring / training of staff Other

Good organisational abilities and able to prioritise work Ability to provide complex advice and guidance requiring analysis, interpretation and comparison of clinical options Good clinical knowledge of current therapeutics and pharmacy practice Please note:
