As a pharmacist in this role, you will be embedded in the clinical team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, attending ward rounds and playing an integral part in the patient care journey. Work with and develop rotational pharmacists, technicians, and trainees within the directorate, including supporting their professional and clinical skills. Clinical Guidance and Practice:
Contribute to the development of clinical guidance and ensure that pharmacy practices align with national guidelines. Implement cost-saving measures, develop and review patient group directions (PGDs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) where necessary. Integration and Collaboration:
Integrate secondary care services within the broader NHS Dorset Healthcare system. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and contribute to the overall patient care strategy. Service Development:
Play a role in the ongoing development of pharmacy services within the directorate. Suggest improvements, streamline processes, and stay updated with best practices. Leadership and Mentorship:
Act as a role model and pharmacy ambassador, and demonstrate leadership qualities. Mentor and line manage rotational pharmacists, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
