Come and Join our dynamic Acute and Emergency Therapy Team! We are looking to appoint a passionate, highly motivated, and proactive Specialist Physiotherapist. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the specialist and fast-paced clinical areas in one of the region's busiest Emergency Departments, Emergency Assessment Units, Medical Short Stay units, and the Frailty unit. The Therapy department and team offer a wide range of experience, where you will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching, and managerial skills as well as contribute towards service development and service evaluation. High standards of clinical performance are essential for this role together with good leadership and an interest in developing your managerial potential. The individual would be responsible for driving forward high standards of Physiotherapy and act as a resource for clinical specialist knowledge. This is an established seven-day extended hours service across all our Front door areas. The successful applicant will be required to offer support across weekends and extended hours. These flexible working patterns can be discussed on an individual basis. Main duties of the job

To take a team leader role to manage, develop, and evaluate the physiotherapy service within this specialty in close liaison with the leadership team and TSL's. To be a lead clinician for Physiotherapy in Acute and Emergency Medicine. Supervision is self-driven through attendance at conferences, courses, or through seeking the advice of peers external to the Trust. To perform highly advanced assessment of patients with diverse presentations and highly complex physical and psychological conditions, to determine a diagnosis and formulate and deliver an appropriate, effective individualized treatment programme. To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. Plan, supervise, educate, and assess physiotherapy students on placement within the Acute and Emergency Area. Work closely with the university and comply with all standards required for the degree level qualification. Design and undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice and improve service delivery. Make recommendations and lead the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols as agreed with the in-patient manager. About us

Qualifications

Diploma/degree in physiotherapy Evidence of HCPC registration Postgraduate qualifications/evidence of postgraduate learning relevant to the clinical field Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Evidence of managerial/leadership training Membership of a specialist interest group Experience

Experience at senior level within the acute medicine field Previous management/leadership experience. E.g. deputising for band 7/8, supervising less experienced staff Demonstrable ability to manage highly complex patients independently in a fast-paced environment Teaching qualified/unqualified staff Active involvement with groups outside the therapy department to include presentation and project presentation Experience at B6 or above in musculoskeletal physiotherapy Knowledge

Specialist knowledge of a broad range of physiotherapy assessment and treatment techniques relating to the specialty Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services, including experience of quality issues and audit Understanding of research processes and critical evaluation of evidence Up-to-date knowledge of relevant national clinical guidelines, recommendations, protocols, or publications relevant to the specialty Awareness of the wider local and national agenda around physiotherapy and NHS developments Knowledge of service improvement techniques e.g. Lean techniques, change management Skills

Good Leadership skills Excellent time management, delegation, and prioritisation skills Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment Ability to adapt to change Data collection & analysis skills Disclosure and Barring Service Check
