The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Podiatry Service is composed of three Teams: Empowerment (Triage and First Contact), Community Podiatry (Foot Protection Service, At-Risk Foot Team, Nail Surgery Team, Rheumatology Podiatry), and the Acute Team (Diabetic Foot Multidisciplinary Team, Vascular Podiatry, Renal Podiatry, F-Scan and Offloading Clinics). What you can add: Manage a caseload of patients in a variety of community settings, including community clinics, patient’s homes, care homes, and hospitals, and provide specialist programmes of podiatric care for those impacted by foot pathology including diabetes, vascular, and renal compromise. Work independently, without direct supervision, to undertake the assessment, diagnosis, and management of foot pathologies, ensuring proactive management and escalation as required, including for those with moderate and high-risk feet, and active foot disease (ulceration, infection). Work as an integral part of the Podiatry Service and contribute to its development whilst adhering to all organisational and service strategies, policies, procedures, and processes. Proactively work as part of the multidisciplinary diabetic foot team as required, including specialist rotations within the service. Support and supervise junior colleagues and students. Provide a high standard of evidence-based podiatric care and have a commitment to continuous professional development and to support audit, research, and service development as instructed. What you’ll need: Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Podiatrist. BSc (Hons) Podiatry or equivalent qualification. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Relevant NHS Podiatry experience. Experience of treating patients with Diabetes, Vascular Disease, and other at-risk conditions. Valid UK driving licence and access to vehicle with the ability to obtain business insurance. Computer Literate. Ability to produce clear, accurate, and contemporaneous patient records and timely correspondence. Knowledge of SystmOne is desirable.
