This is a unique opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to work with young people with SEND in an Further Education College and adults with Learning Disabilities accessing a Community Learning Disability Team. You will work alongside colleagues from a range of disciplines in both settings and be supported by B7 SaLT Clinical Leads. You will have a diverse caseload providing both communication and dysphagia assessment and intervention. Key Task and Responsibilities To manage own caseload of students/clients with Learning Disabilities and other Neurodiversity/SEND and with communication and/or eating and drinking difficulties To line manage/clinically supervise SaLT Co-workers, SaLT Assistant and Specialist Support Workers as directed by Clinical Lead. To deliver high quality Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis and intervention to people with Learning Disabilities/Neurodiversity (SEND) in partnership with college teaching staff and their families/carers; To act as part of the multi-disciplinary Learning Disability teams and represent the Speech and Language Therapy Service at Team/Directorate meetings/working parties. To carry out and interpret specialist assessments of the communication skills and needs of students/clients with learning disabilities/neurodiversity including those with complex/challenging needs.
