Are you a Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in working with adults who are autistic or have a learning disability? Join us in enhancing community provision for this population in the Lancashire and South Cumbria Region. The Specialist Community Forensic Team consists of a multi-disciplinary team including Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and Social Work. You will work across all areas of Lancashire and South Cumbria, liaising with various partner agencies. Working hours are primarily Monday-Friday 9-5pm. Flexible working will be considered. You will be based at Alexander House and will collaborate with Band 7 Speech and Language Therapists. Main Duties of the Job
You will provide high-quality consultation, specialist assessment, and intervention for individuals at risk of contact with the criminal justice system. This includes: Carrying a clinical caseload of adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. Providing person-centred specialist assessment and intervention. Using neurodiversity affirming practices. Contributing to multi-agency formulation and care planning. Formulating reports for various audiences. Providing training and consultation to others. Maintaining clinical care records. Employing excellent communication skills with clients. Working flexibly to gather information for assessments. Utilising Alternative and Augmentative Communication strategies. Qualifications
Professional Speech and Language Therapy Degree (BA/BSc or BMedSci) Up-to-date HCPC Professional Registration Evidence of relevant short courses Post-graduate training in autism, learning disabilities, and/or mental health Knowledge and Skills
Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. Experience in multi-disciplinary and multi-agency settings. Knowledge of SLT assessment and intervention. Willingness to travel across the region. Person Specification

Accredited Speech and Language Therapy qualification (BSc) Registration with HCPC Member of RCSLT Post-graduate training/qualification in Dysphagia Knowledge/Experience
