We are looking for a motivated and innovative therapist to join our team as a band 6 specialist SLT, delivering services to children in the School Years team, within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. You will be part of a large and supportive team comprising Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, therapy assistants and a well resourced admin team.

You will have access to a comprehensive programme of supervision and CPD. We will work closely with you to develop your own areas of clinical and operational interests.

Main duties of the job

The Greenwich Children's Integrated Therapies - Speech and Language Therapy service offer a range of services across three sub-teams: Early Years, School Years and Special Schools. Clinical specialist expertise is available across the whole service and includes: AAC, ASD, Deafness, DLD, Phonology, Dysphagia and SEMH. As the post holder you will:

independently manage a caseload whilst utilising knowledge and skills of colleagues have opportunity to refine both assessment and intervention skills work as part of a team with teachers, outreach services and other health professionals support parent/carers and children/young people in all issues related to clinical care with support from more experienced colleagues provide a specialist clinical and advisory Speech and Language Therapy service to children and young people with diverse speech, language and communication needs work with Principal and Highly Specialist colleagues leading on service improvement plans

Job responsibilities

You will be part of the Greenwich Integrated Therapies service, working alongside Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues.

You will have access to administrative, managerial and clinical support. Training and career development is well supported within Oxleas with the opportunity to attend both internal and external training. Examples of training offered recently or planned in the future include: Nuffield Dyspraxia, Shape Coding, PECS, Bilingualism, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Evidence based for DLD Moor House, Core Vocabulary Intervention, Attention Autism.
