Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 specialist speech and language therapist in our acute team based at Bedford Hospital. The post will be predominantly based on the acute wards. A band 5 to 6 development post will be considered for this role. Main duties of the job Based in hospital covering inpatient caseload and videofluoroscopy clinics. Band 6 role but willing to accept band 5 if no suitable band 6 applicants. Qualifications Essential Speech and Language Therapy Degree Dysphagia qualified Desirable Videofluoroscopy competencies Member of RCSLT Eligibility to work in the UK Essential Has right to work in the UK Experience Essential Assessing and treating adults with acquired communication and swallowing problems Experience of working within an MDT Experience of assessing for and use of AAC Desirable Experience of FEES interpretation Supervising junior staff/students Devised and delivered training Knowledge and Skills Essential Able to work independently and prioritise own workload Established knowledge of broad range of assessment tools
