Main Purpose Specialty Doctors at Cheadle Royal will join a large team of substantive medical staff, each ward is led by a Consultant Psychiatrist supported by their Specialty Doctor and other members of the Multi Disciplinary Team. We provide an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge and practice working alongside experienced Consultants and clinicians within the team, offering a wide variety of clinical practice not usually available within the NHS. We offer a solid commitment to your CPD and have an excellent track record in supporting Specialty Doctors to achieve success in professional examinations and to move on to higher specialist training. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the consultant and MDT, but be also able to work independently. As of February 2023, out of hours cover for the site is provided by NES Healthcare and, as such, working hours are 37.5 hours per week, which conventionally runs from 9am to 5pm. No on call required needed at the current time. Due to the specialist nature of these services, the Specialty Doctor has a key role in providing evidence-based assessment and treatment under direct supervision and support from the consultant. We have a national reputation for offering treatment for complex and challenging presentations in all our service users. You will also report to the supervising consultant and is expected to have formal supervision at a frequency compatible with Priory policy, and to be a member of a peer group within Priory.
