The Emergency Department consists of four resuscitation bays, X-ray, plaster room and treatment rooms giving immediate access to primary medical and surgical assessment treatment and care. Qualifications
Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice ATLS/PALS/ALS 4 years full-time postgraduate training (or part-time equivalent), at least 2 of which in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty Or as fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty OR Equivalent experience/competencies MCEM MBBS MRCS 1 or MRCP 1 APLS Clinical Experience
Broad based experience in Emergency Knowledge and participation in CPD Experience of the NHS Safe and effective written and verbal communication skills Experience of the assessment of emergencies Clinical Governance
Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice Knowledge of risk management Research
Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence so as to improve clinical outcomes Evidence of initiating, progressing and concluding research projects with publication Teaching
Evidence of organising programmes and teaching medical students and junior doctors Training the Trainers experience Management
