Specialty Doctor in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics

The Paediatric Department is looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to work within the Multidisciplinary Child Development Team at the Royal Surrey Hospital. The job is a part-time post comprising 7.5 Programmed Activities (PAs). There is no on-call requirement for this post. Due to the nature of the role working closely with schools, the department would consider flexible working options which would meet both the needs of the service and enable a positive work/life balance for the successful applicant. The Trust is supportive of applicants who wish to consider specialist registration via the Portfolio Pathway. Main duties of the job

They will work in a well-established and supportive Multidisciplinary Child Development Team at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust to assess children with developmental delay including social communication difficulties. Job responsibilities

This post is planned to provide 7.5 PAs of support to neuro-developmental Paediatrics with no on-call commitment. Person Specification

Qualifications

Full Registration with GMC with a license to practice MB BS or equivalent MRCPCH (theory) or Diploma of Child Health Level 3 Child Safeguarding training MRCPCH (clinical) or equivalent Higher degree e.g. Postgraduate qualification in paediatric Neurodisability (Diploma/MSc). Experience

Clinical experience in: Acute paediatrics and Paediatric Neurodisability Completion of foundation training and at least two additional years of experience in Paediatric specialties NHS Experience Knowledge

Knowledge of recognised tools for the assessment of developmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder. Understand the importance of multiagency working in the context of the management of children with complex neurodisability. Knowledge of 'Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018' and of the relevant RCPCH guidance relating to Safeguarding. Training and experience in the use of standardised assessment tools in children with developmental disorders. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £59,175 to £95,400 a year per annum, pro rata (DOE)
