Terms and conditions apply. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (10 PA's) Specialty Doctor in Older Adults. The post holder will be a core member of the Community Mental Health Team. The successful applicant will work alongside a large and enthusiastic number of consultant and Specialty Dr colleagues working across Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust. The applicant will see patients referred to the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team, including assessing and managing functional and organic patients in the outpatient clinics and in the community. Only individuals with at least one year of psychiatry experience in NHS to apply. Main duties of the job

The Specialty doctor will carry an individual caseload but will have support of a consultant in their role. The post holder will undertake community visits in patient's homes and care home visits, as well as outpatient clinics. The Specialty doctor will be expected to undertake Mental Health Act assessments. The Central Older Persons CMHT comprises of two teams (the other one based in Crewe) but the post holder's main work will be in Winsford based CMHT. This CMHT post is based at the Vale House Resource Centre, Winsford of Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) NHS foundation trust. This post has been newly created to increase the medical input into the older adult's community mental health team. The post holder will receive support from the existing full time substantive consultant attached to the community mental health team. This team provides community care service to patients with mental disorders in Central Cheshire. About us

Excellent knowledge in specialty Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service Qualifications

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management. Additional clinical qualifications. ELIGIBILITY

Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice Disclosure and Barring Service Check
