Qualifications
MB BS or equivalent medical qualification from an institution listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. Experience of working in other medical specialties for example: general medicine, geriatric medicine, Accident and Emergency/Casualty. Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit, and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations, and publications. Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry (e.g. Diploma/Masters degree or higher). Professional and personal attributes
Demonstrate emotional intelligence, leadership, and team working skills. Able to work efficiently in a respectful and polite manner with patients/staff/carers and families. Adhere to the principles and spirit of the Equality Act 2010. Academic skills and lifelong learning
Able to deliver undergraduate teaching and training. Participate in Continuous Professional Development. Participate in the Mandatory Training requirements of the Trust. Commitment to annual Appraisal and Revalidation. Physical attributes
Smart professional appearance. Experience
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. A minimum of 4 years full time or equivalent in postgraduate training in the UK, or equivalent EEA training. At least 2 years training in Clinical Psychiatry or demonstrable achievement of the necessary equivalent experience and competencies. Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 6 months of appointment. LD, ADHD, ASD, CAMHS, OPS, Liaison, in-patient and community experience. Clinical Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Good clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. Excellent knowledge in specialty. Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience, including learning disability. Peer-reviewed publications/participation in research. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
