Regulatory Affairs Manager JOB PURPOSE: The Specifications Manager will generate, validate, and approve finished product specifications for all customers and labelling as per EU/UK regulations. This role involves managing assigned projects and providing technical/regulatory support for customer inquiries. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Finished Product Specifications: Generate, validate, and approve finished product specifications on Hamilton Grant, Retailer & food service portal, and other forms of specs for all customers. Thoroughly understand raw material specifications and labelling. Ensure all change controls are in place for specification updates and regularly communicate with stakeholders on spec changes in line with NPD and EPD projects. Participate in Finished Product Spec Audits conducted by external and internal auditors. Artwork Approval: Generate, validate, and approve pack copies. Approve labelling to ensure compliance with EU and UK standards. Work closely with third-party agencies to understand and approve EU (Non-English), Canada, and USA labels. Regulatory: Have a thorough understanding of EU and UK regulations and the impact of regulatory changes on Mizkan categories by working closely with the Regulatory Manager. Project Management: Understand critical path timelines and manage deadlines to achieve outcomes. Regularly participate in meetings with cross-functional stakeholders (NPD, Supply Chain, Commercial/Sales, Technical, Marketing) to discuss project details and provide feedback on project status. Customer Enquiries: Work closely with customers to provide required information. Collaborate with the Mizkan customer service team & retail, food service team to support inquiries received. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Bachelors in Food Science, Food Technology, or related subjects. KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS: Proactive with the ability to challenge the status quo and provide continuous improvement to processes & procedures. Ability to prioritize workloads. High attention to detail. Enthusiastic with good presentation skills. Analytical thinking. Team player but able to work independently. Thorough understanding of UK and EU regulatory standards. Awareness of current food trends. Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Experience in a Specifications & artwork approval role in the food industry for at least 3-5 years; ideally with work experience on Hamilton Grant Specifications System (not mandatory). KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Works closely with NPD, Technical, Quality, Marketing, Commercial Sales, and Customer Service teams. This role is based at Mizkan Chiswick Office with a hybrid working option available. This role reports into the Regulatory Manager. Job Family: Quality, Technical & Product Development
