Are you an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist passionate about developing your knowledge and skills in providing Community Speech and Language Therapy Services for Adults with acquired swallowing, communication and voice problems? If so, we want you to be part of our team. We have a Band 5-6 development permanent post available in our Speech and Language Therapy Team and are looking for an enthusiastic therapist to work within our team. We are a small, dedicated team providing patient-centred assessment, advice, and treatment to adults across Coventry. We have excellent relationships with our Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, and Dietetic colleagues in our Planned Community Services and work closely with specialist colleagues in the Parkinson’s Disease and Motor Neurone Disease MDTs. We work alongside Ear Nose and Throat colleagues in our MDT Voice clinics and provide voice therapy for adults with benign voice disorders. We offer home visits, clinic-based appointments, and attendance at the MDT clinics at UHCW across our dysphagia, communication, voice, and dysfluency caseloads. There are opportunities for you to work across all of these caseloads to develop and advance your clinical skills with support from specialists in voice, dysphagia, and dysfluency. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist professional clinical management/supervision for our SLT team as an integral member of the Planned Community Therapy Leadership Team. Provide advanced speech and language therapy assessment treatments and review for patients referred into the service with acquired communication, voice, and swallowing needs. Provide expert advice and guidance to patients, carers, health, and social care professionals from across multiple providers internal and external to the organization. Support and contribute toward service development and meeting Key Performance Indicators. Undertake and support specialist professional development of the staff within the service and across the Integrated Community Services as required. Work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to team discussions and influencing decisions about patient care programs. Develop and carry out robust treatment and management plans individually or in a group setting, evaluating the outcomes as appropriate. Provide specialist advice, teaching & training to other members of the MDT regarding the SLT management of patients with communication and swallowing disorders. We meet regularly as a team to support each other, manage our caseloads, and learn from each other in order to offer the best possible assessment and treatment for our clients. We will support your development through Band 5 NQP and dysphagia competencies into developing your own caseload and specialisms.
