Barnsley Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join their team at Barnsley Hospital. This role focuses on providing high-quality clinical expertise for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of adult inpatients on acute wards who present with communication and/or swallowing difficulties, including complex cases. Main duties of the job

Providing expert clinical advice and management for adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders, including those with tracheostomies. Leading the planning and day-to-day operations of the Speech and Language Therapy service in the acute hospital setting. Demonstrating sound clinical judgment and creating individualized care plans, while being flexible with clients, carers, and other professionals. Training and mentoring junior therapists, students, and other healthcare staff, promoting the importance of communication in patient care. Maintaining accurate clinical records, writing reports, and contributing to future service planning through statistical data collection. About us

Experience

Proven post-graduate accredited (or equivalent) dysphagia training and experience. Previous experience working with adults who have had a stroke. Qualifications

Degree in speech and language pathology or therapy or equivalent. Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist Certificate to Practice. Registration with Health Professions Council. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
