We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive Adult Speech and Language Therapy team. We pride ourselves on being an innovative and encouraging team with a strong commitment to Continuing Professional Development and service development at every level. We offer excellent clinical and professional supervision and dysphagia training can be provided. This post is based at Harrogate District Hospital within the small but specialist Community Neurology team. Supported by a team of Band 7, Band 6's, SLT Assistants and the wider MDT, the post holder will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills working within a community neurology caseload. You will gain exposure and access to our weekly instrumental assessment services, including Videofluoroscopy and FEES. The role will involve outpatient appointments, domiciliary and nursing home visits. Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide a comprehensive clinical service for community neurology patients with speech, language, communication and swallowing needs within the Harrogate and District area. The role will involve outpatient appointments, domiciliary and nursing home visits. The successful candidate will have knowledge, skills and experience of working with both dysphagia and communication patients as a result of both progressive and non-progressive neurological disorders. To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to maximize the rehabilitation potential of patients. To deliver education and training to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals. Speech and Language Therapy graduate with membership of HCPC. Experience of working with adults with neurological conditions at undergraduate/post graduate level. Experience of MDT working. Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Experience of delivering a range of adult speech and language therapy interventions. Experience of working with a community neurology caseload. Employer certification / accreditation badges
