This is a low secure unit for males with a learning disability, including those with co-morbid personality disorders, mental illnesses, and autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs).
To be considered for this position, you must have a degree in Speech & Language Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and generate strategies. Demonstrate specialist knowledge in communication and swallowing disorders. Contribute to the assessment and information-gathering regarding service users' mental capacity and ability to give informed consent with support from senior colleagues. Assist service users to maximize their independence in decision-making and communicating their wishes.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of Dysphagia. Experience of working with families. Evidence of continuing Professional Development. Able to show a can-do attitude always. Specialist clinical knowledge and experience in Adult Neuro-rehab.
The successful Speech & Language Therapist will receive an excellent salary of GBP42,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours a week.
