At NELFT, we have the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for a speech and language therapist to join our diverse Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team in the London borough of Redbridge. You will be working as part of a friendly, diverse and supportive team to provide a service for children presenting with a range of speech, language, communication and feeding difficulties. As part of your role, you will provide assessments and deliver interventions to upskill parents, carers and education staff. Main duties of the job
As a Speech and Language Therapist in our Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team, you will deliver care to service users in the community, clinics and education settings. The main responsibilities of the post include: To provide a comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy Service to clients referred with social communication needs and speech and language disorders. To be responsible for organising and prioritising your own workload. To deputise when required in the team manager's absence. To contribute to multidisciplinary support for clients. To provide feedback and advice to parents/carers regarding communication and feeding needs. To develop and deliver training and support packages. To regularly attend supervision and commit to the supervision process. Person Specification
Qualifications
A recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent. Professional HCPC Registration to practice. Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy. Experience
Experience of working in education settings and community clinics with children who have disorders of speech language and communication. Experience of working with children with social communication difficulties/Autism. Knowledge
Knowledge of formal and informal assessments and therapeutic interventions. Knowledge of Child development and its application to Speech and Language Therapy. Understanding of safeguarding. Skills
Interpret assessment results, identify appropriate goals and formulate care plans. Demonstrate clear clinical reasoning based on evidence-based practice.
