We are hiring full-time and part-time Speech Therapists to join our dynamic care team at Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Plymouth! As a Speech Therapist, you provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload; participate in the clinical team process; provide teaching and training to caregiver staff; and supervise other assistants, aides, and students as required. Education & Experience:

Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Speech Therapy. Current licensure by the applicable state agency. Two (2) years of clinical experience in long term care preferred. CEUs per state licensure requirements. New graduates welcome! Duties & Responsibilities:

Screen patients/residents. Evaluate patients/residents and develop appropriate care plans. May perform additional assigned administrative duties such as assigning and overseeing resident care activities, medical record oversight, assuring execution of physician orders, ordering supplies, etc. Under a physician’s order, provide direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Contribute to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program. Consult with and train patients/residents and caregivers. Monitor efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor. Document activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis. Demonstrate consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations. Communicate effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisor. Participate in clinical program development and implementation. Participate in the training and orientation of other staff. Demonstrate ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field. Comply with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protect residents’ individual health information. May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor. Participate in quality improvement activities. Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department. Specific Requirements:

Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary. Excellent hearing and verbal skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities. Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and for direct patient care. Requires intense attention and concentration. Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others. Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language. About Athena Health Care Systems:
