Hybrid - Stroud Salary Details:

Depending on Experience About The Role About us… Green Electricity didn't exist in the world back in 1996. When we offered it for the first time, we became not just Britain’s but the world’s first Green Electricity Company – and kick-started the now global Green Electricity movement. Our mission was and remains to change the way electricity is made and used in Britain. We operate a unique model. We use our customers’ energy bills to fund the building of new sources of Green Energy. We like to refer to this as turning ‘Bills into Mills’ – energy bills into energy mills, whether that’s wind, sun, sea or gas. And we’re a not-for-dividend company – the money we make goes back into our mission. At the heart of this business is a team of fantastic people - energetic and passionate about what we do, who work together to make things better and who are keen to ’shake things up a bit’ by challenging what others see as “conventional wisdom”. About the role… This role sits within our Commercial Credit Management Department, which handles activity relating to the collection of unpaid energy bills. Reporting to the Commercial Debt Performance & Development Manager, this technical role will require you to design, scope, develop and deliver data solutions to meet the requests of stakeholders, while seeking opportunities to improve data insight. About you… You will be an experienced data analyst with a proven track record in BI, data manipulation and problem solving. You’ll have experience in building relationships and will be required to support members of the wider team. The role will require you to be a strong communicator, both written and verbally, with the ability to convey key information in a variety of digestible formats, providing delivery timescales and using strong stakeholder management skills to communicate these. Knowledge of the Energy industry would be beneficial but not essential. Key Behaviors/Competencies You will have a questioning mind, not accepting of answers at face value, you will seek to obtain corroborating evidence for information received. Making complex decisions – You will demonstrate abilities to manage high quantities of data, to make good and timely decisions. Building collaborative relationships You will hold yourself and others accountable to consistently achieve results. Identify trends to define and improve business strategies. Review reporting methods and processes, maximising the opportunity to automate wherever possible. Act as a key point of contact for both regulatory and operational reporting. What will you bring… Proficiency in Databricks Advanced data pipeline design and development Data quality and governance Data integration processes Data visualisation tools development Data warehouse and data mart design and development ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Knowledge of Big Data technologies (Spark) Data modelling and architecture Advanced analytics and high proficiency in SQL query writing. Strong problem-solving skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Stakeholder management and facilitation of decisions of all sizes Strong presentation skills for engaging senior stakeholders. Ability to effectively manage high pressure situations. Essential : Writing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation across multiple tables / data sources. Selected candidates will undergo a practical SQL test to assess proficiency. A resilient ‘can do’ attitude. Demonstrating persistence to work through complex problems independently. The role is Hybrid and requires the successful candidate to work in the Stroud (UK) office 3 days per week with the remaining days working from home. A keen eye for detail and accuracy in delivery to requirements. About Us What's in it for you... Healthcare plan, life assurance and generous pension contribution Volunteering day Hybrid working Various company discounts (including shops, days out and events) Holiday of 25 days (plus bank holidays) & ability to buy/sell days Cycle to work scheme, car pooling and onsite parking available As a valued member of the team you will be supporting the Group Environmental policy and its associated targets to make the Green Britain Group net carbon neutral by 2025. Flexibility statement The fast moving nature of the company's business means that from time to time you may be asked to perform duties or tasks outside of your original job description on an ad hoc basis. This allows the company to use its people in the best possible way at all times and helps the employees to make their contribution in a changing environment.
