The Role Reporting to the Head of Talent and Performance, the Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and assessing effective training programs aimed at improving employee performance and supporting Squadron’s high-performance framework and the organisational competency framework. This role includes conducting needs analysis, developing or organising training material, facilitating learning sessions, and tracking the impact of learning initiatives. The Learning and Development Specialist will be joining a newly formed team. This is the opportunity to make a difference with our employees and the communities we work with. We are operating in a greenfield environment, and this role has the unique opportunity to build systems and processes from the ground up. Key responsibilities: Build and manage internal learning and development activities. Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the SQE’s organisational strategy, high-performance framework and the organisational capability framework. Work with P&C Business Partners and team managers to understand specific training needs and appropriate training providers. Provide recommendations for training programs based on data and organisational objectives. Develop and manage the implementation of customised learning and development programs, including workshops, coaching, eLearning modules and induction modules. Ensure that training materials are culturally relevant, up-to-date, and meet legal and industry standards. Communicate and strengthen SQE’s learning culture and encourage continuous learning through personal and professional development. Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices in learning and development. Suggest and implement innovative approaches to enhance learning experiences. Offer coaching to enhance employee development, leadership capabilities, and career progression. Provide individual support for employees who require additional guidance. Maintain accurate records of training programs, attendance, and progress in Workday. Manage learning and development budgets and resources effectively. Work with internal stakeholders to facilitate social licence commitments (training and employment) for ALTESAs. Participate in workforce development forums and committees including the Clean Energy Council’s Workforce Development Committee and State and Federal government steering committees. Establish and maintain key relationships with universities and other tertiary institutions to build a pipeline of talent at SQE. Manage the distribution of SQE scholarships and other SQE funded training regionally and nationally. About you: Experience and knowledge: You will have: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organisational Development or equivalent relevant work experience. Strong experience in managing learning and development strategy programs and activities. Proven experience working in a fast-paced work environment. Strong understanding of career development practices and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies. Skills: Personal drive, resilience and creative problem solving. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including writing for a range of purposes and audiences from community to government. Demonstrated organisational skills including prioritising tasks, managing multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Ability to meet tight deadlines, work without supervision and manage a diverse workload, together with strong conceptual, analytical and research skills. Cultural alignment with the Company values.
