Job Overview TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer to join AD&M’s Ruggedized Fiber Optics (RFO) group, focusing primarily on sustaining development. RFO is a leading designer, developer, and manufacturer of optical and optoelectronic products for telecom/datacom, oil and gas, industrial, military, and broadcast markets. As part of the AD&M team, you will be joining a group of professionals who are passionate about ensuring the future growth of the business while maintaining integrity, taking accountability, working together and continually improving to ensure constant innovation and openness to change. This position will report directly to the RFO Engineering Manager in the US, and this role is a hybrid role with onsite presence at our Hastings plant required. Role and Responsibilities Liaison to Manufacturing in Hastings plant location Create Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) Support/witness testing in the lab DVT/Qual cable assembly design/drawings, component modeling/print creation Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA Support design review preparation/presentation Model shop requests Support build or build prototype parts Tolerance analysis Create design verification test (DVT)/Qual test plans, create test requests Make changes to drawings in SolidWorks/CREO/ZWCAD to support UK MIL or General Market Controlled ECR/ECNs Address requests for product extensions, drawing changes, engineering quotes Handle requests to get part extended and costed in SAP Support Expanded Bean Product Line for changes and product extensions What your background should look like: Working knowledge of manufacturing processes Proficient with MS Office software Experience with SolidWorks, CREO, and AutoCAD Strong Technical Aptitude with willingness to learn new technologies quickly Self-driven & result-oriented Multitasking in a matrix organization Desire to solve problems with analytical thinking Good in people management and execution skills Strong organization skills and team player Competencies Values: Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation
