Due to developments within the department, opportunities have become available for highly motivated enthusiastic Staff Nurses to join our team within the Regional Endoscopy Unit (REU). REU is a proactive, forward-thinking department where development, education, and protected learning for staff is paramount. In turn, allowing us to deliver the best, most up-to-date care to our patients. This post is for the endoscopy department within the Regional Endoscopy Unit. Applicants must have a genuine interest in working within endoscopy to join the diverse multidisciplinary team within the unit. There are many opportunities within the department for ongoing learning and education within this specialty. Good decision-making skills in clinical practice and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must possess evidence of effective team working and excellent interpersonal skills, and be committed to patient-focused care. Experience within nursing is essential for this particular post, along with the ability to reach our out-of-hour on-call service within the hour. A driving licence is essential for the on-call service. As part of the team, you will be fully supported through mentorship, induction, revalidation, and teaching programmes. In return, you must be committed and motivated in your own professional development. Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part-time hours. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
