Your role will primarily be focused on delivering high quality care to a range of inpatients on a busy 43 bedded surgical unit. The successful post holder will also be able to work within our enhanced recovery area which will give an amazing opportunity to develop higher level skills. You will be working closely with your Band 6 colleagues to ensure you receive support and development; excellent communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will be well motivated and enthusiastic to learn. You will be given all necessary training required and will attend all relevant mandatory study days. The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a safe, effective, efficient care environment for patients, relatives and carers. They will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care under indirect supervision from senior staff. They are expected to be able to demonstrate procedures and supervise unqualified staff, and work without direct supervision once the key learning outcomes of the foundation programme are complete.
