We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse who has an interest in developing their Systematic Anticancer Therapy skills based at Chartwell Chemotherapy Day Unit. You should have experience in haematology, oncology, or an acute setting. This is a developmental role for the post holder to develop Systematic Anticancer Therapy (SACT) training and will help play a key role in delivering SACT and improving patients' experiences for both malignant and non-malignant conditions. Main duties of the job

Experience and interest in caring for patients with Haematology and Oncology conditions. Competent in IV administration (training will also be provided). Willingness to expand clinical practice including SACT accredited course and UKONS SACT passport. Competent in managing Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) (training will be provided IV Therapy Passport). Plan, document, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for cancer patients undergoing treatment responsibly and efficiently. Develop a greater awareness and understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and the different treatment modalities administered within the unit. Main Responsibilities Be an advocate for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Provide expert, holistic care of a high standard to both the patients receiving chemotherapy and their relatives. Manage case-load and be responsible for safe chemotherapy delivery in accordance with national and trust guidance on the delivery of Systematic Anticancer Therapy (SACT) and cytotoxic therapy for non-cancer indications. Act as a positive role model to junior staff members, ensuring all staff recognize their responsibility to deliver services in a high-quality, patient-focused manner and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Education and Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN1) with active NMC registration at the time of starting appointment. Willingness to work towards a recognized SACT course and complete UKONS SACT Passport. First degree or a willingness to work towards this. Mentorship qualification or willingness to work towards this. Knowledge and Experience

Experience in Cancer care/Haematology & Oncology. Skills and Competencies
