Join our Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT) in Oldham on an 8-month fixed-term contract to cover band 5 back fill. As a valued member of our team, you will collaborate with local partners, including community, acute, and tertiary care providers, as well as local authorities and volunteer organisations. Main duties of the job Join us in delivering exceptional, evidence-based care to children in the comfort of their own homes and community settings! As part of our dedicated team, you will partner with parents and caregivers to provide tailored support for every child's unique needs.

In this dynamic role, you'll monitor and recognize acute illness exacerbations, initiate critical nursing interventions, and collaborate closely with senior clinicians for optimal care. Your expertise will help shape individualized care programs through ongoing assessment and evaluation, ensuring effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.

You'll empower children on their journey to self-care, guiding them toward healthier lifestyles while educating parents and caregivers about health promotion and specific clinical needs.

Additionally, you'll connect community services with children's inpatient units, facilitating smooth transitions and safe discharges. Your responsibilities will extend to community clinics, outpatient appointments, discharge planning meetings, and safeguarding discussions, ensuring vital information flows seamlessly among all parties.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. Awareness and understanding of child protection/safeguarding children policies and processes Evidence of clinical knowledge and relevant experience in caring for children with acute and chronic illnesses (pre-registration experience is suitable) Able to develop and maintain effective communications with key stakeholders including parents/carers Evidence of collaborative working across organisational boundaries Ability to motivate self and others Good communication skills
