Job summary PLEASE NOTE; The start date for this post will be no earlier than May 2025 Intensive Care Staff Nurse - full time/ part time The Intensive Care Unit is a 19 bed critical care unit with a mix of level 2 High Dependency and level 3 Intensive Care beds, catering for a variety of medical and surgical patients. We are seeking Staff Nurses with an interest in Critical care to work within the team ensuring delivery of high standards of safe patient care. This position will offer the chance to make a real difference to the way in which care is delivered to Critically ill Patients. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn and develop critical care extended skills, amongst further educational and professional development opportunities. Main duties of the job

Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service. United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Pilgrim Hospital is situated in beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service. Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services. Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county. This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations. The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG). Job responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential Current Registered Nurse with NMC. Desirable Formal critical care qualification Evidence of a programme of professional development Mentorship course (ENB 998 or equivalent) Previous Experience

Essential Experience of managing patients with acute and critical illness and able to demonstrate clinical skills and competence in this area Knowledge, Skills and Aptitudes

Essential Evidence of continuing professional development Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to correctly perform drug calculations Ability to use own initiative Ability to work as part of a team Ability to organise own workload Support junior members of the team Desirable Venepuncture Cannulation Immediate Life Support Specific Requirements
