Main duties of the job

Responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised patient care, working in partnership with patients, their carers and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the patient's physical, spiritual and emotional needs are met. Recognise changes in patients' conditions which require the intervention of others and ensure that timely referrals are made or escalation procedures enacted as appropriate. Ensuring high quality care and compassion is given to all our critical care patients and their carers. Communicate sensitively, confidentially and with empathy to meet the wide ranging physical and emotional needs of patients and their carers and families. Adhere to hospital and unit policies and procedures, regarding Infection control, health and safety and managing risk. Continuing Professional Development and studying for competencies, as this is an essential part of the role. About us

You will be joining a highly motivated team. We work as one team across the two sites in Telford and Shrewsbury. We work closely with our MDT to maintain high standard of care and compassion. We recognise outstanding care within our team, supported by the Learning from Excellence. We also highly value safety and quality - with established daily safety huddles, improved communication through our team newsletter and open culture for all staff to suggest improvements. We value training and development highly on our unit, and we will support you to complete your mentorship course as well as your graduate certificate in Critical Care as part of your development. RGN Adult Relevant diploma or equivalent experience Appropriate level of verbal and written English language skills as determined by formal assessment (if English is not first language). Desirable

Teaching and Assessing Course Critical care course Experience and Knowledge

Acute Nursing experience Knowledge of current professional issues Desirable

Awareness of relevant / current professional issues. Understanding of use of audit in a clinical setting Skills and Ability
