Main duties of the job
You will be an integral part of the team providing direct care to patients with a variety of mental health problems. To act as the named nurse with responsibility for the overall care of an identified group of clients. To regularly act as shift coordinator ensuring the smooth running of the clinical area and best utilization of resources available, with support from senior staff. You will be involved in providing a high level of safe and effective care. Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. Liaise with the multidisciplinary team. Provide mentorship to others.

Registered Mental Health Nurse Qualification
Desirable
Have completed supervisor and/or assessor training At least 12 months experience of working as a qualified nurse
Knowledge
Essential
The Mental Health Act 1983 and Code of Practice. Risk management skills. Understanding of equality and diversity. Understanding of clinical audit. PMVA.
Experience
Essential
Experience of working within a mental health setting. Experience of working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team. Experience of care planning and risk assessment. Experience of working with clients with severe and enduring mental illness.
Desirable
At least 12 months in a supervisory role.
