Staff Nurse Outpatients (across sites covering Canterbury and Ashford) A rare opportunity has arisen for a Registered Staff Nurse to join our fast-paced, dynamic Outpatients Department and Preoperative Assessment service at our Private Hospital in Canterbury.

Friendly and flexible candidates are sought to work closely with our fantastic Nursing Team and Consultants to support patients who access our outpatient services. We offer consultant-led clinics, minor surgery, clinical procedures, and pre-operative assessment services across a wide range of specialities such as Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Orthopaedics, and General Surgery.

You will have the opportunity to manage and work within a varied caseload in OPD services.

Job responsibilities

Expected to work across all areas of Spencer Private Hospitals within their role remit

Contribute to the maintenance of patient care standards and assist with the implementation of changes to care delivery systems, methods, and nursing practice to improve the quality of care

Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing standards that reflect customer requirements and professional best practice

Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision, providing individualised patient care

Provide professional leadership, advice, and guidance within the team, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team

Assist and advise staff, both registered and unregistered, in the delivery of patient care

Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records in line with professional standards

Responsible for the administration and custody of medicines in line with Spencer Private Hospitals (SPH) policy and professional standards

Assist in the maintenance of professional standards, highlighting to the line manager when standards are not met

Uphold the corporate values of SPH

Person Specification Qualifications

Diploma or Degree

Evidence of continual professional development

Teaching and Assessing Course or equivalent

Experience

Experience in surgical/medical/OPD environment with a knowledge and understanding of surgical/medical/OPD procedures

Delivery of evidence-based practice

Demonstrates a patient-focused approach

One year post-registration experience

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary:

£15.26 to £18.57 an hour, dependent upon qualifications and experience
