We are currently looking to recruit into vacancy in our Children's Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU). Within Nottingham Children's Hospital (NCH) we house a 14 bedded PCCU with both intensive care and high dependency beds. We care for children under a wide range of specialities, working closely alongside the Children's Medical Emergency Transport service for the East Midlands region. PCCU provides an essential service for Neurology/Neurosurgical; Spinal/Orthopaedic; Oncology/Haematology; Respiratory; General Surgery and Rheumatology as well as paediatric renal services for the region. This allows staff on the unit to be actively involved with kidney transplants and hemofiltration. We are supported by the PCCU Education Team and have a well-established foundation programme for those nurses who want to join us as newly qualified nurses. For those staff that are always looking for the next challenge, there is the option of using our internal transfer window system to move to another area at a later date to gain further skills and experience. Main duties of the job

In addition to the below summary, you need to familiarize yourself with full Job Description and Person Specification documents attached to this advert. We are happy to accept applications from both experienced and newly qualified children's nurses as well as experienced adult registered nurses that can demonstrate experience in paediatric settings. To be considered, you must be willing to undertake further children's specific training and development packages. *Pre-Pin Nurses must be qualified by Autumn 2025, to be eligible to apply.* This is a really exciting time to join NCH as we became the first Children's Hospital in Europe to achieve ANCC pathway to excellence accreditation in 2020. This makes NCH a special place to work, as it shows that we provide excellent care to patients and families, and it is also recognition that we have fantastic teams, leadership at all levels, and a huge array of development opportunities. As a registered nurse at Nottingham Children's Hospital, you will be expected to maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out nursing procedures. You will motivate colleagues, champion children's and families' safety and dignity, and drive continuous improvement. Nottingham Children's Hospital will support you in your role and provide the relevant education, training, and support for you to deliver high quality care. About us

We have an innovative Preceptorship programme to support newly qualified staff during their crucial transition period from student nurse to registered nurse, as well as bespoke support for those joining our teams.
