We are looking to recruit a Staff Nurse to join our Team on Pevensey Day Unit to cover up to one year's secondment.

We provide treatments to Haematology Oncology patients. The day area has 18 chair/bed spaces caring predominantly for patients receiving Haematology and Oncology treatments and is currently open from 0800 - 1800 Monday to Friday. The Unit uses the Chemocare electronic prescribing system and has implemented an electronic diary system of booking patient appointments.

You must be a 1st Level Registered Nurse (Diploma/Degree), with generic pre-registration experience in an acute setting; Chemotherapy experience is desirable.

You must be able to work as part of a team, use your own initiative, and have effective interpersonal and communication skills. Main duties of the job To participate within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering appropriate safe patient care in a timely fashion, working towards the role of Team Leader, providing clinical expertise and ensuring the delivery of appropriate safe patient care.

Person Specification Experience

Generic pre-registration experience in a care environment

Ability to undertake further training and development

Knowledge of quality, audit, and research

An understanding of the NHS

Previous experience in chosen specialty

Previous experience of working in a hospital setting

Skills

Ability to carry out a full range of nursing practice

Additional skills & knowledge appropriate to specialty

Qualifications

Evidence of diploma level / degree level study

Registered General Nurse on the NMC register

Evidence of continual professional development

ECDL Qualification
