Staff Nurse - Radiology Band 5, 22.5 hours per week over 3 days

We are looking for additional NMC registered nurses with a minimum of 12 months experience in acute care and an interest in developing their skills to support the Radiology Department. Primarily working with interventional radiologists to care for patients through minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. These image-guided methods include Fluoroscopy, Ultrasounds, Computerised Tomography (CT). The post will also include rotation to assist the Modality Lead and Radiographers within the Nuclear Medicine department in performing Myocardial Perfusion Stress Testing. New developments within the department include the upcoming opening of a new day case unit/recovery bay to support interventional procedures where the nursing staff will be responsible for admitting patients, screening and preparing them for their procedures, recovery post procedure and educating patients and their family members. You will be joining a busy multidisciplinary team that delivers a high standard of care to our patients. You should have excellent team-working and interpersonal skills, to support the Lead nurse in planning and developing interventional services and be able to organise and manage your own workload. Interventional Radiology (IR) is a facility offering a comprehensive specialist service to patients with acute and chronic medical conditions requiring specialist diagnostic and interventional procedures which are invasive and require undertaking sterile procedures and monitoring of the patient's condition and nursing care accordingly, thereby providing a holistic team approach to quality care. The role is both interesting and demanding and will include assisting with interventional procedures supporting the radiology lead nurse, radiographers, and the Radiologists. About us
