are pleased to be supporting one of their key Clients in the recruitment of a Qualified Statutory Accountant to work for a very well-established and esteemed organisation based in the Cheshire area, offering hybrid working. The successful individual will ideally be qualified ACCA or ACA having worked within industry for a couple of years, or even a first time mover at Audit Manager level. This role will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the following duties: Production of the year end statutory accounts preparation for external audit Fully responsible for the balance sheet accounting, including monthly reconciliations reported to Group Finance Preparation of monthly management accounts, review of sales reports for the directors and senior managers including unbilled journals and accruals Responsible for the calculation of new tenders and contracts with regards to operating leases and liabilities, regular liaison with European Group Finance Team Continuous improvement around financial control, ensuring compliance and audit are completely up to date with minimal issues within IFRS compliance framework Weekly cash flow forecasting to the Financial Controller and Group Finance team Supporting the annual budgeting process. Financial reporting on a regular basis under IFRS Overseeing all aspects of the UK VAT reporting process Completion of HM Revenue and Customs returns and payments as required Preparation of Corporation tax return prior to advisers review Responsible for the completion and submission of government issued forms such as Office for National Statistics, Payment Practices reporting returns as required. Finance lead on payroll and benefits compliance legislation. Staff management: Motivating the team to encourage high efficiency and quality within their work. Giving clear guidance and support as required Organising workloads and holiday cover as required to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely, efficient manner. Seeking to improve processes to increase quality and efficiency. Recruiting motivated and enthusiastic members to the team as required and retaining them thereafter. Key Deliverables / Measures: Timely & accurate reporting of monthly and statutory financial information Timely and accurate reporting of HMRC and other returns Implementation and maintenance of strong financial controls Financial budgets, plans & forecasts to timescales Skills/Experience ACCA/ACA qualified with a couple of years PQE experience within industry working in a financial accounting role for a larger SME that might be part of a Group, sector background within business services or retail advantageous but not essential Ability to influence, communicate, challenge and motivate at all levels, maintaining effective relationships across the business Pragmatic approach to problem solving Team player Ability to create and deliver Innovative financial solutions Ability to maintain strong internal controls Sets high standards, with the ability to implement and maintain controls Applies drive to the Finance agenda, whilst making it meaningful cross functionally Can meet strict and challenging deadlines Proactive, energetic and enthusiastic – adopts a positive attitude to their work & environment Good communication skills Strong Excel and analytical skills What’s on Offer £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits Hybrid working 25 days holiday plus banks Free parking To find out more about this Statutory Accountant job based in the Cheshire, please apply I’d be delighted to hear from you.
