We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. 12 weeks of full-time training on Monday-Friday at 10:00-18:00. Then, move to full-time permanent shift, 37.5 hrs per week on Monday-Friday at 13:00-21:00 + availability for weekend/Bank Holiday cover. What is involved?

Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards. Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards. Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively. Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak). Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person. What is in it for you?

An annual salary of £23,615.00 plus a 5% performance bonus, and generous shift allowances if you work overtime/unsociable hours! Plus, a higher cost of living allowance if you work in London. This is a 12-15 month fully funded programme studying good scientific practice for the Healthcare profession! It is universally applicable outside of STERIS! Completed on the job, you are given 20% of your working hours to study towards the qualification. Further apprenticeships are available throughout the course of your career!
