Hold an HNC level (or equivalent professional qualification) in construction, housing, management or property. Have proven knowledge of the decent homes standard, component lifecycles, HHSRS Rating system and domestic building construction methods and faults. Have strong knowledge of building components, common issues, hazards and proven ability to diagnose and remedy defects. Have proven ability to achieve targets and prioritise, plan and manage own workload. Be committed to keeping abreast of changes in housing legislation and construction methods and contribute to service improvements. Be able to deal with challenging situations with empathy and present in a professional and positive manner. Have excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate clearly and accurately with a wide range of internal and external customers. Have excellent administrative and IT skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Housing Management systems.
