If you are looking to develop your career in the provision of property related technical support and advice on the safety, integrity and sustainability of all building structures, fabric and components, then we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking for a talented individual to ensure surveys and inspections of properties are carried out in an effective manner, ensuring all work complies with service standards, policies, and statutory regulations.

About Us: We are an award-winning not for profit housing association that currently owns nearly 9,000 homes across County Durham. We offer more than just a home. We help improve the lives of the people living in our homes and in our places. We work hard to make sure those homes are high quality, sustainable and adaptable, while meeting tenants’ current and future aspirations. We offer support that helps people into work and training and increase their financial confidence and stability.

About The Role: As a Stock Condition Surveyor, you will undertake stock condition surveys (SCS) on our homes, garages & commercial stock accurately determining the current condition and consider the component life cycle to inform future investment needs.

You will undertake HHSRS evaluations to identify and protect against potential risks and hazards to future proof the home to enable our tenants to remain independent and sustain their tenancies.

About You: You will have demonstrable practical experience of identifying opportunities for additional investment to reduce inefficiencies and losses. A detailed knowledge of planning regulations, building control and other statutory requirements is essential to ensure all compliance requirements are met. You will have the ability to plan effectively, solve problems quickly and shape and adapt services innovatively for the benefit of our tenants.

Educated up to Level 3 in a relevant Surveying/Building Studies/Construction qualification, we will also support you to achieve accreditation in the HHSRS. Upon completion of your probation, we will fund a Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline.
