Job Title:

Stock & Purchasing Controller

Reports To:

Stock and Purchasing Manager

1.

Job Purpose

The efficient and effective completion of the stock control daily workload, ensuring all responsibilities are managed to a good standard.

2.

Duties and Responsibilities – Stock Control & Purchasing

Follow company systems and procedures for stock control and management using D365.

Placing and managing Purchase Orders for stock, consumables and special items as required, including liaising with suppliers.

Placing and managing orders for the Maintenance and Cleaning Depts as required, including liaising with suppliers.

Reporting weekly and monthly balances.

Achieve all site performance targets to agreed deadlines.

Ensure PI checks are completed and major variances investigated as per procedures.

Process daily stock transfers including Production items.

General administration of stock.

Assisting in company projects when required.

Any other work as directed.

3.

Training

Training in all aspects of the Stock Control department will be given.

4.

Quality

Ensure that any supplier quality issues are reported and dealt with correctly as per procedures.

Ensure ownership and accountability for the quality of output.

5.

Personal Health & Safety Awareness

All employees are required to:

Be responsible for all aspects of safety within the department as per the Health and Safety Manual, Training Manuals and Risk Assessments.

Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and tested according to regulations.

Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment issued is correctly worn, when necessary.

Ensure that all safety equipment supplied by the Company is maintained in an operational state.

6.

Reporting

Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all records from within the department, both on hard copy and on computer (Reporting can include the Board Reports, Balance Reports, Stock Levels, Stock Forecasts, Call-Off reports as well as any other reports required, from time to time, by Management).

7.

Housekeeping

Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the department.

The workplace must be kept neat and tidy at all times.

8.

Discipline

Ensure that you are aware of and comply with all Company regulations, as contained in the Employee Handbook, Work Instructions and other control documentation.

Maintain acceptable standards of behaviour, attendance, time-keeping, etc., as detailed in the Employee Handbook and other control documentation.

9.

Communications

Ensure that communications are maintained at the highest possible level.

Comply with the Company’s Team Briefing process.

Comply with the Company's Equal Opportunity Policy and Fair Employment Policy.

Ensure that the Company Attendance Management Policy is followed.

10.

General & Other Duties

The Stock Controller may from time to time, be required to carry out other duties, projects, etc., as directed by the Department Manager.

Person Specification

This challenging position reports directly to the Stock & Purchasing Manager and demands a high level of initiative, attention to detail, pro-activeness and communication skills.

The role will:-

· Work within a team, looking after your own area of stock to ensure stock availability at all times. Cover all aspects of stock control, stock transfers and stock ordering.

· Have day-to-day responsibility for achieving the high standards of stock control and ensuring the completion of the stock control daily workload.

· Learn all Microsoft D365 procedures within the dept and ensure all responsibilities are managed to a high standard.

The person will:-

· Have previous experience of working in a warehouse or Stock Control environment.

· Have a good standard of education specifically in Maths & English.

· Have a working knowledge of Windows based software including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

· Preferably have experience of Microsoft D365 or similar system

· Have excellent communication, interpersonal and reporting skills.

· Have an ability to handle all routine problems to a satisfactory conclusion.
