We are seeking a Strategic Advisor to support the Executive Director of Children, Families and Schools (statutory DCS) in delivering strategic, both internal and externally-facing initiatives that will transform lives of children and young people across the East Riding. Why This Role? Strategic Impact: Work closely with the Executive Director of Children, Families and Schools to shape the directorate’s strategy, aligning it with local needs and national policies. Policy Leadership: Lead on horizon scanning and policy changes, ensuring the directorate stays ahead of government ambitions and adapts proactively. Insightful Communication: Craft briefings and reports that keep the directorate fully informed and aligned with strategic objectives. Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate with directors and external stakeholders to ensure that East Riding is at the forefront of service innovation and delivery. Key Responsibilities: Support the Executive Director of Children, Families and Schools in strategic planning and externally-focused activities. Maintain a strategic overview of policy changes, providing timely insights and advice to the directorate. Write briefings and develop communications to ensure the directorate is well-informed and aligned with broader governmental ambitions. Engage with external partners to build strong relationships and drive a cohesive approach to service delivery for children. Play a critical role in supporting shaping local services, ensuring they meet the needs of children and families in East Riding.
