The Strategic Contract Manager role will focus on providing strategic commercial contract management services for key supplier contracts and ensure effective stakeholder engagement, contract compliance, and contract performance management, thereby delivering optimal financial and patient care outcomes to the organisations it serves. This challenging role would suit individuals with Contract Management and/or Commercial experience who understand contract life-cycle management, complex contractual constructs, and who have a proven track record in managing customer/supplier relationships up to and including senior management level. Strong organisational ability, attention to detail, thoroughness, and tenacity. Good commercial acumen. Exceptional negotiation, influencing, persuasion, and judgment skills with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels. Ability to understand complex contractual agreements for the supply of products and services ideally in a clinical environment. Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets. Strong leadership and management skills including written and verbal communication. Experience of dispute resolution. The South West London Procurement Partnership (“SWLPP”) came together on 1st April 2021 as a new, single procurement service acting on behalf of: Croydon Health Services NHS Trust; Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust; Kingston & Richmond Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; and St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (“Trust”) whilst also providing services to the wider South West London integrated care system. Qualifications
Expert knowledge of procurement strategy acquired by professional procurement qualification (CIPS Level 6 inc Legal Aspects) or NVQ level 6 plus MBA or equivalent experience. Experience
Works with senior Service Stakeholders and provides & receives highly complex, sensitive contractual information. The ability to negotiate and achieve agreement and cooperation is required. At least 3 years in a commercial purchasing environment, experience of compliance with OJEU process. Builds effective relationships with all others. Uses listening and empathy and asks questions to understand the customer/stakeholder perspective. Knowledge
Highly developed specialist knowledge of Contract Law and EU regulations, acquired from both academic theory and experience. NHS or Public sector experience is desirable. Able to demonstrate good understanding of commercial issues and purchasing techniques.
