Stroke Consultant Vacancy - West of England
NHS – CONSULTANT STROKE VACANCY
We have been assigned by an NHS Trust based in the South West of England to help them recruit a Consultant Stroke Physician on either a Substantive or 12-month NHS Fixed Term basis.
Our client is a “Vanguard” site, which identifies them as one of the most innovative Trusts in the country and gives them unique access to national support and funding to realise their exciting plans for the future.
Our client provides the following Stroke Services:
Hyper-acute and Acute Stroke care including 7-day HASU ward rounds. 24/7 Stroke Thrombolysis supported by the AGWS Stroke network. Stroke Thrombectomy at a neighbouring site. Dedicated TIA clinics. Daily Outpatient clinics. Rehabilitation through 2 community Hospitals (1x13 bed and 1x16 bed rehabilitation unit) and Early Support Discharge (ESD). Stroke Research. Current overall performance in SSNAP is Level B and Level A at other sites.
The rapid access TIA clinic has been running since 2004, providing rapid assessment with agreed protocols for brain imaging (MRI) and carotid imaging.
The stroke team also provides Consultant Physician support to the state-of-the-art, purpose-built 20 bed stroke unit.
Our client is based in a very desirable part of South West England, straddled between areas of outstanding natural beauty and idyllic rolling hills featuring national hotspots for cycling, surfing, and climbing.
There's plenty to keep anyone occupied alongside the abundance of music festivals and local traditions.
Additional Information: 10 PA's per week (8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA). Excellent leadership opportunities for experienced Consultants. Fantastic CESR opportunity for those wanting to progress to Consultant with an excellent support system. A modern University Hospital. Excellent modern facilities.
This is a Consultant Stroke physician vacancy; specialist registration with the GMC is not necessary; however, GMC registration is essential. Our client is able to offer a 12-month fixed term contract to those without specialist registration, and they are able to offer a substantive contract to those with specialist registration.
