The Client

A specialist fire and security company with offices throughout the UK and Ireland. They currently have several Fire Surveyors, Fire Engineers, Fire Consultant and Director roles based in various locations in their offices.

The Role

My client is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Structural Fire/Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will help my client grow their business within a supportive organisation that encourages professional growth and career development. As part of the team, you will also have the chance to contribute to our research, development, and innovation (RD&I) initiatives and help advance the fields of structural fire engineering, fire engineering, and facades.

Key Responsibilities

Project management and deliverance of structural fire engineering projects on large-scale and/or technically challenging projects. You will oversee and fully manage large-scale and/or technical projects and can lead a team of Engineers. Responsibility for the financial performance of projects. Active involvement in business development and assisting the team in meeting its strategic goals. Working with Associates and Directors to prepare proposals for our customers. Support in the development of the long-term strategy for the team. Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team. Attendance to design meetings. Attendance and participation in conferences and be proactive with learning opportunities. Taking a proactive approach to customers and projects.

Requirements

Master's degree or higher in Structural or Structural Fire Engineering. Chartership or working towards Chartership. Proven experience in fire safety engineering and structural design. Strong understanding of building codes, fire regulations, and industry standards. Proficiency in fire modelling software, FEM software, and standard engineering design tools.

Experience

Designing steel, concrete, and other traditional construction materials at both ambient and fire conditions. Designing CLT and mass timber at both ambient and fire conditions. Experience in fire modelling natural fires, localized fires, and CFD.
