Key Responsibilities
Conduct surveys and structural assessments on marine vessels. Undertake maintenance activities, including MPI inspections and weld recovery/reclaim. Collaborate with painters, fabricators, and inspectors to complete structural repairs from start to finish. Adhere to Health & Safety standards and contribute to environmental compliance.
Essential Criteria
Hold SVQ Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in welding, or an equivalent qualification in the required specialism. Proven ability to undertake welding activities, inspections, fault finding, and repairs on vessel structures and systems. Valid or attainable weld coding certifications. Valid fit-to-work certificate issued by a recognised occupational health practitioner or GP. Relevant certification for confined space working and working at heights. Full SC clearance prior to starting.
Preferred Criteria
Experience in ship or marine vessel construction or maintenance.
Additional Information
Start Date: 6 January 2025. Duration: 6 months (initial contract). Rate: £35.50 per hour (all hours, PAYE Umbrella). Working Hours: Dayshift (08:05-16:45 Mon-Thurs, 08:05-12:05 Fri) and Nightshift as per business needs. All workers must adhere to the client's security and safety protocols, including confined space training.
