Structural Design Engineer
Are you a Structural Design Engineer looking for a new permanent position? Are you based near Glasgow? Belcan has an exciting opportunity at our Blantyre, Glasgow office for a Structural Design Engineer to join our Marine and Defence team. Responsibilities: Providing liaison and solutions for customer structural problems for the lifting, rigging, and jigs required for installation of equipment on board offshore vessels. Working in an Engineering Service environment and balancing technical responsibilities with commercial and project timescales. Producing 3D integrated CAD models and associated production output drawings that deliver the engineering design intent. Ensuring the technical quality of the engineering solutions provided. Supporting offshore tasks as directed by the Team Leader. Qualifications: Experience in Marine engineering or a defence or safety-critical domain such as Automotive, Aerospace, Transportation, and Energy. Proficiency in tools and techniques used by the Belcan team (e.g., Foran, Windchill, CAD software, and FEA software). Excellent knowledge of handling and lifting equipment, ideally in a marine environment. Strong understanding of structural hand calculation methods and techniques.
