Mon to Fri: 9.00am to 5.30pm Sat: 9.00am to 4.00pm Job Description Responsibilities Act as ambassador for the department, ensure client service levels are set, adhered to and maintained. Actively support the Acting Head in managing the department. Manage the team of bookkeepers including performance management, appraisals, recruitment, etc. Prepare weekly KPI statistics for the department for review & discussion with Acting Head of Rural Client Finance. Oversee: Daily payment run approvals. Compliance logs. Direct Debit collections. Raising of fees. Ensure suspense accounts are reviewed and cleared down on a routine (monthly) basis. Prepare and review client rental statements. Manage weekly task-list and holiday cover within bookkeeping team in liaison with the Acting Head of the department. Preparation and submission of Non-Resident Landlord Returns. Carry out bookkeeping systems administration audits and checks. Monitor progress of the team, supporting and mentoring where required to ensure each member of the team can give of their best. Support the team in assisting with client queries, taking the lead as appropriate; works closely on a day-to-day basis with all members of the team. Provide regular training and updates on processes and systems to colleagues across the wider business. Contribute positively to projects and process improvements. Work collaboratively with the Acting Head of the Department and the Head of Shared Services. Person Specification Personable and approachable. Trustworthy. Attention to detail. Qualifications Studying towards ACCA or equivalent (or recently qualified). Experience Previous experience of working in a senior bookkeeping and payroll position. Proficient in the use of Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Previous experience of working to deadlines. Managing a medium-sized dynamic team.
