We are a thriving evangelical and charismatic Anglican Church with two of Southampton University’s campuses in our parish. As only 1% of students are in church nationally, we’re aiming to invest significantly in work among students as we think it’s a burning priority. Our plan is to be both
missional
and
attractional : missional through our Campus Pastor, releasing him for creative and risk-taking mission on Campus, while also seeking someone to lead our
attractional
church-based student work in compelling and engaging ways. As the Student Pastor, you will set the vision for our church-based work among students, inspiring them to encounter God, grow together, and seek the Kingdom. You will also work with the Campus Pastor where appropriate in outreach on Campus. Minimum Requirements
For you to be right for the role we have, we need you to: Have experience of helping to lead work among students Have a passion for seeing students (and young adults of student age) grow in their discipleship, particularly through small groups Love seeing students and young adults grow as servants and leaders, using their spiritual gifts Have experience of sharing your faith with students Be someone who loves team-working and has led within teams Be self-motivated and organised Have a pastoral heart for the well-being of students (and young adults of student age) Be willing to engage personally in our church discipleship process of
encountering God, growing together and seeking the kingdom , in turn commending and modelling it to others We’re offering a salary of £26,208 per annum (£12.60 per hour) as well as a 9% contributory pension scheme, great holiday allowance, and relevant training and development opportunities. This role is offered on a permanent contract, with a
40 hour working week
- it will include varied daytime, evening and Sunday hours, but with
two clear days off
