Situated within the External Relations Directorate, this exciting new role is based within the Student Recruitment team in Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO). MRAO has responsibility for marketing, recruitment and outreach to prospective students and other key stakeholders, throughout the student journey for all levels of study from across the UK. This role is to undertake a blend of administrative duties to support the development and delivery of key undergraduate recruitment events and activities at the University of York, specifically the organisation and delivery of the University’s undergraduate open and visit days and campus tours, in addition supporting and attending student recruitment events in schools, colleges and conference venues across the UK. These recruitment events include exhibitions and giving presentations about higher education generally as well as the University of York’s courses and facilities. This exciting role would suit someone who is looking for a varied role, who would enjoy attending and presenting at recruitment events as well as supporting the administration and planning of large-scale events. You will have a good general education, as well as experience of customer service. You will be organised, self-motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively and communicate professionally with colleagues and key stakeholders. We are seeking a new member of the team who will be equally as committed to our goal of working within Student Recruitment strategies to achieve our aims. Key responsibilities

(Role holders will be required to undertake some or all of the duties below) General duties Provide excellent customer service to all event enquirers and visitors whether on or off-campus, responding appropriately and professionally to answer queries and resolve problems from colleagues and external customers. Engage with visitors and colleagues in a helpful and approachable manner. Work collaboratively to be able to work effectively across the University with internal and external stakeholders. Main duties and responsibilities Apply a good working knowledge of departmental/service administrative systems. Play a key role in providing administrative support for MRAO. This involves supporting the planning, organising and administering of a range of recruitment events both internally on-campus and externally in school/college or at exhibitions. This will include tasks such as responding to email enquiries, booking rooms and transport providers, and external facilities such as first aid providers. Ensuring administrative processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor the process for ensuring financial payments are coded to various projects and university accounts, and are accurately recorded using university financial systems and procedures, and as required producing financial reports and management information. This includes raising purchase order numbers. Undertake visits to schools and colleges to give presentations to students and other key stakeholders, or to attend careers fairs to give information and advice about higher education generally or the University of York specifically. Develop extensive knowledge on the University of York’s courses and facilities to best advise students. Organise travel and accommodation using the University’s approved travel suppliers. Attend online or on-campus PG recruitment and conversion events for prospective applicants and offer-holders in an administrative capacity. Provide administrative support for the Student Ambassador Scheme. Inspect and record identification documents provided for Disclosure and Barring Service checks. Assist with UCAS Clearing and other activities as required. Create and update presentations and materials for UCAS and school and college post-16 audiences. At times travel to different events across the UK and work outside a standard working day with evening and weekend work required.
