Job Description: We are looking for a passionate, dynamic, and innovative leader to oversee the Business and Economics department. As Subject Leader, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership, and development of the curriculum in Business and Economics, ensuring a high standard of teaching and learning across all key stages. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic success and future career pathways of our students. Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop a dedicated team of Business and Economics teachers, ensuring a collaborative and high-performing department. Curriculum Design & Delivery: Oversee the development, implementation, and review of an engaging and relevant Business and Economics curriculum that meets the needs of all students. Teaching Excellence: Model and promote excellent teaching practices across the department, ensuring high standards of learning and student progress. Assessment & Reporting: Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. Use data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for enhanced student outcomes. Professional Development: Foster a culture of continuous professional development within the department, encouraging and supporting staff in their growth. Innovation: Stay abreast of developments in Business and Economics education and incorporate innovative practices, resources, and technologies into teaching. Collaboration: Work closely with other subject leaders and senior leadership to contribute to whole-school development and the delivery of school-wide initiatives. Person Specification: We are looking for a candidate who: Has a strong academic background in Business, Economics, or a related field, with a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, etc.). Possesses extensive teaching experience in Business and Economics at Key Stage 4 and 5 (GCSE, A-Level). Demonstrates leadership qualities with experience of managing and developing teams. Has a passion for inspiring and motivating students to achieve their full potential in Business and Economics. Is committed to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive. Has a proven track record of excellent classroom management and effective use of assessment for learning. Demonstrates a strong understanding of current educational trends, including curriculum changes and pedagogical approaches.
