Subject Leader of Design Technology

The Royal School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative subject leader of Design Technology, to lead learning and teaching in our heavily oversubscribed all-through, day and boarding free school. The aptitude and willingness to teach a range of abilities from ages 11-18 is essential. The ability and enthusiasm to teach with a flair and passion is crucial. We are looking for the best candidate to join the team, so all applications are welcome, and the ability to teach up to A level would be essential. This role would not be suitable for ECTs. The department has one classroom and one workshop with a complete refurbishment of the department planned as part of our free school refurbishment. We currently teach GCSE from year 9, spreading the demands of the specification over three years, offering the best opportunity for students to fully master all topics. DT is a popular subject at GCSE and A-Level, and the team wants to build on the positive exam success of previous years. The Royal School is at an exciting time of development. The free school is an all-through (Reception to Y13) ‘independent’ school without day fees whilst still providing excellent boarding at affordable fees.
